It is no longer a secret that one of only a few wolf packs in the Pacific Northwest has taken residence near CoyoteCottage. Very near CoyoteCottage, in fact. We can see the saddle in the ridge, the other of which their den is located.

Once on a cold winter pre-dawn I heard the wolf howl, an experience that indeed stirs up some ancient fears from deep within. Jack London didn't make it up, after all.

The pictures on this page all depict 'our' pack. May they ever be free to prosper and roam.

Wolves Here!

Above and left: Two images taken by Angus Kerr on a spring morning less than half a mile from us.

The one in the top photo may be a pup or yearling, and possible the same as the one looking into the camera on the photo to the left. It is closer to the camera than the one with its head obscured, but clearly smaller. Or, the other way around, the one with no head looks frightingly large!!

These three images are all remote controlled, unmanned camera shots installed by researchers. They show two adults, left and below, and a playful group of pups above.
